Thank you for saving me $100s if nit thousands of dollars on my wedding. Since our venue came with its own PA system, and Ive had the experience of DJing, this app was very attractive.
My fiancé and now wife & I had fun building music for our family and friends, as well as ourselves.
I used this app for my wedding on my iPad yesterday and Im happy with how it worked, with a few exceptions. Wish the developer would consider the following. Even though the app wasnt designed for the iPad, and had the usual orientation issues, it worked quite well.
As someone who DJed dozens of weddings and corporate events over a span of seven years, I feel this review is fair and supportive, with constructive critisism:
1. The crossfading between songs was not bad, but between playlists needs work. There should be an option to choose the duration of crossfade. Either stationary durations (5, 10, or 15 seconds), or a slider between 1 and 15 seconds with a preview button. The crossfade really needs to overlap between songs.
2. There should be an option to start the wedding mid-playlist. The app crashed 2/3 into the playlist but thankfully our merest and dearest took it in stride. I managed to get back to the spot by restarting the wedding and deleting the already played parts to get back faster.
3. Audio normalisation: getting all the songs from the iTunes Store or ripped from my own CD collection, songs from differences eras are mixed differently (newer songs are mixed "hotter" or louder). Since this app is supposed to be a "set it and forget it", my groomsmen and I had to often ride the faders on the mixer. There should be an option to normalise all the songs.
I hope this helps those looking to buy this app and the developers to get more satisfied customers like me and my wife. If you put in the time and effort, you can have an awesome reception. These suggestions will only make it better!
Cheers.
